Steven Jenkins

Steven started making pottery in Somerset in 2005. His everyday pieces are cast by hand in white earthenware and decorated entirely freehand, all pieces are microwave and dishwasher safe and durable in daily use.
Training in printmaking and then working as an illustrator has given Steven a different approach to decorating pottery, finished wares have a textile feel and the strong graphic plant forms are often set against a clean palette - turquoises and greens reminiscent of the Pembrokeshire coast where he grew up, strong yellow, greys and lavenders reflect his keen interest in 1950s decorative arts. He has also written monographs on Midwinter Pottery, Portmeirion Pottery and Emma Bridgewater. A range of teatowels complements the pottery.
He returned to printmaking a few years ago and produces linocut images of plants and small still lifes, he also undertakes commissions of houses. You can find his work in galleries throughout the South West and in London.
