Kate was born in Warwickshire and moved to Reading to read Fine Art and History of Art at Reading University in 1995. Upon finishing her degree in 1999 she traveled overseas producing and exhibiting work. In 2001 she returned to Reading and based herself at Open Hand Open Space Studios. Kate was awarded a Masters in Fine Art at the Royal College of Art, London in 2007. In 2010 she completed a 14 metre long, 360-degree panoramic painting of the View from St Paul’s Cathedral. This work was subsequently installed in the Cathedral for their 300th anniversary celebrations.
Kate’s paintings constantly refer to her travels and experiences of much loved locations, both in the UK and further. Her fluid, lyrical and instantly recognizable style encapsulates the essence of these places.
