Sally was born in Berkshire and studied at Harrow School of Art, Maidstone College of Art (BA Hons) and The University of Reading (MA in typeface design). Sally finds inspiration in the imagery created by the written word, she sees patterns everywhere and is happiest when drawing in her sketchbook and experimenting with her printing press.
Sally enjoys experimental self directed work as well as a variety of commissions using lettering and illustration these include: metal screens, standing stones, village signs; she has designed and illustrated books for BBC, Hamlyn and Two Rivers Press. She also draws and paints buildings or interestingly odd things. One of Sally’s linocut prints is in the permanent collection of the Museum of Reading and she is currently working on a big public art commission for the centre of Reading.
